The Accelerated Learning department runs for Key Stage 3 only, providing Direct Instruction lessons in reading, writing and mathematics, as well as humanities and literature curriculum. This research-informed curriculum is designed to accelerate the learning of students where needed, in order for all students to be able to join Key Stage 4 with the skills, knowledge and confidence to access and succeed in GCSE courses and examinations to a high level. We believe that no child should be left behind, and that research-informed teaching, hard work and plenty of teacher support can allow all children to gain a powerful education.
