16/4/18 app warning is a free app, which appears to be a harmless and fun application, can pose a serious threat to the safety of children and young people. is a social network for sharing user generated music and videos. Many children enjoy the ‘lip-sync’ element of the app, as well as browsing videos created by others. Videos are generally shared between groups of friends, and can be saved as private, but the other content is freely available and is not ‘policed’.

The app states that it is not to be used by children under the age of 13, but many children under this age continue to use the app. links directly to another app called, which has no safety setting, and permits anybody to enter into a conversation with the child. Through this, they are at serious risk of being exposed to extremely inappropriate content and conversations.

Please ensure that activity is monitored when a child is using or any other social media platforms or apps.

Non-uniform Interhouse Challenge

Inter-House Challenge – Non-Uniform Day Friday 23rd March

This half term we have been working with Telford Crisis Service, by collecting food and other items to donate to our local food bank. The food bank supports those who find themselves in a time of crisis fr reasons out of their control.

We are very proud to confirm that Shakespeare house collected 130 kilograms, and as a school we have collected over 500 kilograms.

This is an incredible achievement and means that Shakespeare house have won the inter-house challenge and have therefore been rewarded with a non-uniform day this Friday, 23rd March.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who helped to organise this project and those who donated.

'The Voice'

We are very excited to launch the very first edition of our new student magazine, ‘The Voice’.

At Telford Priory School we sincerely value the importance of student voice. Through the student council, students are given opportunities to be actively involved in decisions that are made in school and are able to make suggestions about how things can be developed or changed in school.

‘The Voice’ magazine is written by students for students. It is therefore an excellent opportunity for students to report and comment on school life. We would love for more people to get involved with this publication and anyone wishing to make suggestions or become involved with the writing, design or production of the magazine should see Mrs Pitt or Miss Thomas as soon as possible.

Thank you and well done to everyone who has contributed to this edition and we look forward to publishing our next issue at the end of the spring term.

We are pleased to announce that Telford Priory School have partnered with tootoot

Tootoot is an anonymous website that students can log into, and tell us if they are worried about anything at all. It might not just be bullying, it could be a problem at home, or about a friend, anything at all that they're worried about. Students are able to log in and tell us about it in confidence.

Students can also get tootoot on their smartphone or tablet from the app store, and can log into it in exactly the same way as they can on the website.

We're launching tootoot here so that students can all feel safe in school. We don't want anything getting in the way of learning at Telford Priory School, that's the most important thing to us and Tootoot is there to use whenever its needed.

We would like to wish our students, staff, parents and carers a very relaxing half-term.

Students will return to school on Monday 30th October at the normal time.

Telford Priory School takes seriously its duties to assist parents/carers and help them with on line safeguarding resources.

As such we would like to make you aware aware of the web page Parent Info, which is a comprehensive, free resource for schools and parents covering a range of safeguarding topics and information about apps and when they are updated etc.

The content is updated by CEOP (Child Exploitation & Online Protection Centre) and can be found at
