Here at The Telford Priory School our students follow a vibrant curriculum which encompasses the new 2014 national curriculum. We approach each unit of work with the expectation that students will make the best progress possible. Our team works dynamically to establish prior knowledge, deliver challenging lessons and use assessment to build confident mathematicians who are prepared for the challenges of Key Stage 4 and beyond.
Year 7 and Year 8 follow the same order of topics. Year 7 focuses on mastering the basic building blocks of each topic. The year 8 content recaps topics taught in year 7 and expands on the skills and difficulty.
Key stage 4 Year 9 and Year 10 follow the same order of topics. Year 9 focuses on mastering the basic building blocks of each topic. The year 9 content recaps topics taught in year 10 and adds in new topics where appropriate
The year 11 content reflects the need to ensure full understanding of the topic covered in year 9 and 10 in preparation for GCSE examination at the appropriate tier for the individual. Until the end of the Spring term students will recap prior knowledge and look at new content as appropriate. From the start of the summer term the focus is on revision and exam technique.
Pupils are asked to attend intervention on various nights of the week for extra study or revision to consolidate or extend their learning.
