Geography - Eco Schools
What is Eco-schools and what do we do?
Eco schools is a global programme engaging 19.5 million children across 67 countries, making it the largest educational programme on the planet. It aims students to save the earth.
At TPS we have an Eco Warriors Club where we welcome all students in our school from Year 7 to 11. We find ways to help our environment, but make it exciting for all the students and staff who take part in our projects. As part of Eco Schools, we can pick from 10 topics to help us in our work, to improve our environment and school life as well. Through Eco Schools we are working towards getting the Green Flag Award that is an internationally recognised award for action and learning about the environment. This year, we are hoping to get both the Bronze and Silver Award. This can be awarded by putting steps 1, 2 and 3 of the Eco-schools framework into action.
Please click on the links below to learn more about these steps.
- Step 1 – Form an Eco Committee
- Step 2 – Undertake an Environmental Review
- Step 3 – Produce an Action Plan
The Green Flag Award is a tough one to achieve! It may take us up to 2 years to finish all the steps to achieve all three awards!
